Facilities
The Department of Art is located in Wey Hall. As you roam throughout our building, you will find spaces and equipment for each program of study. You will see:
- Lecture spaces for Art History
- Presses for Printmaking
- Wheels and kilns in the Clay area
- Welders, plasma cutters, a forge, saws and sanders for Sculpture
- Easels for Painting and Drawing
- Tools and work benches for Metalsmithing & Jewelry
- Looms and papermaking beaters for Fibers
- Darkrooms for Photography
- Digital print and computer labs for Graphic Design and the rest of the department
Next door to Wey Hall, in the lobby of Farthing Auditorium is the Catherine J. Smith Gallery—one of three exhibition spaces on campus and a place where our Art Management students gain practical experience as they play a vital role in preparing exhibitions.
Our Art Education students can practice teaching in nearby schools and the Turchin Center’s Community Art School.
