Art Minor

Students wishing to minor in art have three options:
Minor in Studio Art with Portfolio Review

A minor in art for students who have passed FOUNDATIONS PORTFOLIO REVIEW consists of 18 semester hours. Courses include Art 1001 Foundations I, Art 1002 Foundations II, Art 1003 Foundations Drawing and 9 s.h. chosen from Art 2011 Art Introduction, any STUDIO ART course and/or any ART HISTORY course.

Minor in Studio Art without Portfolio Review

A minor in art for students who have not passed Foundations Portfolio Review consists of 18 hours. A minor in art for students who have not passed Foundations Portfolio Review consists of 18 hours. Students can choose 12 sh from the following courses: Art 1020 CORE I, Art 1021 CORE II, Art 2011 Art Introduction, Art 2022 Cultivating Creativity, Art 2019 Art for Social Change, and 6 s.h. chosen from any Studio Art course and/or Art history observing prerequisites.

Minor in Art History

A minor in art history consists of 18 semester hours. Students are required to take the two art history survey courses and the Seminar in Art Criticism and Theory. In addition, art history minors choose nine semester hours of ART HISTORY electives.
