Scholarships

In recognition of outstanding accomplishments in art, several scholarships for art majors, Talent Awards and special $1000 Fine & Applied Arts Scholarships for entering freshman or transfer students are available to students.

Additional sources of funding include work-study employment within the department and campus-wide, and structured internship programs provide for on-the-job experiences in certain majors. Internships have been served worldwide.

Entering Freshmen

Note: Applicants must meet all of the eligibility requirements for each scholarship they choose to apply for. Scholarship Recipients must be enrolled as full-time students each semester they expect to receive the scholarship. Incomplete application forms will not be considered. Exception: Senior Studio students are not expected to be full-time.

Eva H Burress Memorial Scholarship

Recipient awarded: Amount to be announced.

Jaroslav & Jarmelia Kabatnik Memorial Scholarship

Recipient awarded: Amount to be announced.

Peter & Joni Petschauer, Polson Penland Scholarship

Recipient awarded one 2-week summer workshop residency at Penland School.

  • Rising Sophomore or Rising Junior in any degree track with concentration(s) and/or prior experience in media offered at Penland.
  • Have not previously been a student or assistant at Penland
  • 3.0 Overall GPA; 3.4 GPA in Art Courses
  • Three prioritized workshop selections indicated (view current Penland catalog)
  • Completed scholarship application for Art Majors
Martin and Doris Rosen Scholarship

Recipients awarded: Amount to be announced.

Sherry Edwards Memorial Scholarship

Recipient awarded: Amount to be announced.

Steele-Reese Fund Scholarship to Penland

Recipient awarded: full scholarship for a workshop residency at Penland

College of Fine and Applied Arts Scholarships

Recipients awarded: $1000 for one academic year.

The Randolph A. Johnson Scholarship Endowment for Art

Recipient awarded: Amount to be announced.

Peggy Polson Art History Scholarship

Recipient awarded: Amount to be announced.

  • Declared major in BA in Art with Concentration in Art History.
  • Sophomore standing or above during the award year (could be a first year student when applying)
  • 3.0 overall GPA. 3.4 GPA in art courses
  • Minimum of six hours of Art History coursework
  • Completed scholarship application for Art Majors
  • Submit an art history research paper. The paper should have been produced as part of the applicant's art history studies at ASU. It is permissible to rework a paper before submitting it.
