Teresa provides administrative support to the Department of Art.

Vicki Clift

Freshman Advisor

Vicki Clift has an MA in Art History from the University of Memphis. Her specialization is Flemish art. Vicki is a faculty member, teaching Introduction to Visual Arts as well as the Art History survey classes. She is also the freshman advisor for the Department of Art.

Administrative Support

Frances provides administrative support to the Department of Art.

Alissa Nelson

Visual Resources Manager

Alissa Nelson has worked as Visual Resources Manager in the Art Department at Appalachian State University since October 2010. She has a BFA in Design and MLIS from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is responsible for maintaining and growing the digital image database, MDID, which houses images for instructional use. Additionally, she is responsible for maintaining the print labs within the Art Department.

Print lab hours are available on the Google calendar and will change each semester. Hours may also change in the event of severe weather or other unforeseeable events.

William H. “Sonny” Struss

Department Technician / Studio Manager

Sonny is responsible for overseeing the daily physical operation of the building and all program facilities within including safety procedures and practices. He holds a BA in Art Education from Eastern Kentucky University and an MFA in Sculpture from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Aside from both high school and college level teaching experience he was a self employed Jeweler/Craftsman for 21 years, who designed, manufactured and marketed his own line of fine jewelry.
