Activities Laura would love and (most likely) you would too!

Every semester, our calendar is filled with rich opportunities for our students and faculty to engage with art and design. Visiting artists, designers and scholars give lectures and conduct workshops. Our department's affiliated student organizations gather to plan activities and hold events. Over in the Smith Gallery, their exhibitions and events provide opportunities for the whole community to experience art and artistic practice.

No matter who you are—student, facutly, staff, member of the community, or Laura—we're sure that we’ll enrich your life if you come to one of our events. Laura, if you’re out there, please bring that thing we told you about when you come. Thanks!

Postcards to the President

Visiting Artist Sheryl Oring visited campus before the 2016 presidential election. As part of her “I Wish to Say” project, she set up a portable public office in the Plemmons Student Union’s Solarium – complete with manual typewriters – and invited people to dictate postcards to the presidential candidates.
