Publication on art teacher autonomy in the Chicago Public Schools

Appalachian State University Art Education assistant professor Albert Stabler and University of Illinois Art Education professor Jorge Lucero recently published a piece on their respective experiences as art teachers in Chicago in the Journal of Social Theory in Art Education, entitled “Public school art teacher autonomy in a segregated city: Affordances and contradictions.” All the articles from this special issue on educational subversion can be downloaded here.
