Saved: Objects of the Dead, an exhibition of photographs and prose about items people have saved from deceased loved ones is now on view at the University of California, Irvine (UCI).
A collaboration between Professor of Art Management Jody Servon and UCI English lecturer Lorene Delany-Ullman, Saved considers how memories of the dead become rooted in everyday objects, and how objects convey those memories to the living. The project features items people have saved from a deceased friend or family member.
Saved is view through Feb. 17 at the UC, Irvine Student Center’s Viewpoint Gallery. A reception, artist talk and reading will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Feb. 13.
