The BFA in Photography is our newest BFA program. Offering concentrations in Commercial Photography and Fine Art Photography, the program prepares students for careers as successful image makers.

The program’s core curriculum gives students an introduction to photographic careers and a solid foundation in the use of cameras, lenses, lighting, image editing and printing.

Commercial Photography

Students pursuing the concentration in Commercial Photography gain experience in digital retouching, video production and editorial photography and areas of specialization. In their senior capstone course, students produce promotional materials and a portfolio of work.

Fine Art Photography

Through a series of seminars, students in the Fine Art Photography concentration gain intellectual, visual and technical maturity in respect to their own work. In studio courses, they explore fine art photography form, darkroom techniques and alternative photographic processes. In their senior capstone course, students produce a body of work for exhibition.
